MonoSodium Glutamate
In its pure form, MonoSodium Glutamate, E621 or MSG, is a white crystalline solid.
This salt is used as a flavour enhancer in many oriental foods.
MSG is made from an Amino Acid, which is a building block for proteins that all cells make and use.
And Sodium, a chemical your body needs for many functions including nerve function.
MSG has safety concerns at higher concentrations strictly limited to irritation, you do not want pure salt of any form in your eyes or lungs. Goggles are not needed simple care while handling should be enough unless salt dust is present.
This is a chemical it’s impossible to be allergic to as your body needs and makes it, the chemical is naturally present in both meats and vegetables.
However excessive consumption like with regular table salt can lead to high blood pressure, kidney damage and dehydration.
